Summer harvest preparations

On Venturing into the garden just over a week after our return home I found some nice surprises. I nice head of broccoli, some self seeded lettuces, some good carrots ( but quite a few woody ones) and a great bunch of silver beet.
After a few hours we have clean beds with new seedlings: capsicum, cucumber, zucchini, basil and pumpkin. And, we found some strawberries hiding under the overgrowth. Yummmmm... Can't wait for summer harvesting

Saturday 22nd

We drove to MT Rushmore and saw the four presidents. They were big. The presidents were George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

Then we went to the new monument called Crazy Horse. The Indians built Crazy Horse because the white people built the four presidents. We got the private tour up onto the arm. That night we watched the light show that was projected up onto the side of crazy horse.

Julius - 29th August 2012

On the first day we landed in Los Angeles. A shuttle bus took us to a hotel called super 8. As soon as we got there we went swimming. A bit after we went to the hotel to put our stuff in. then we caught another bus to a really big shopping center was no K-mart no target no Coles no Woolworths. Instead they have Macey’s, Wal-Mart and other things I forget. That night we ate delicious Greek food and went to bed.

Getting to America

On August 29th at 11 am we boarded flight VA007. Finely we were on our way to L.A. On the plane I wached the Lorax, Beetlejiuce and a bit of the pirates. After that I went to sleep for a hour. We had dinner a midnight snak and brekfist.We were on the plane for 13 and a half hours. When we arived it was 7 am. We had traviled back in time. When we got to the hotel we went swimming. Then we went shoping and brot ice-cream. Then we went swimming again. Then we all had a nap. After we went to a restront and ate the most delicious Greek food. Then we all went to sleep.
